The Los Angeles Rams are preparing for their NFC Championship battle with the Seattle Seahawks at Lumen Field on Sunday, but if they lose, they may have to quickly move into offseason mode.
With that, the Rams could see one of their coordinator or assistant coaches move on to other opportunities, including offensive coordinator Mike LaFleur, who is a candidate for the Arizona Cardinals‘ open head coach job.
However, the MMQB’s Albert Breer believes that LaFleur could be a candidate for an open offensive coordinator role with the Tennessee Titans.
“[Mike] McDaniel was certainly high on Saleh’s list before McDaniel went to the Chargers. I’d say Rams OC Mike LaFleur (Saleh’s OC for two years in New York) would be, too, but my guess is that LaFleur will stay in Los Angeles,” Breer wrote in his weekly mailbag.
If the Titans want to interview LaFleur for that job, the Rams would have to approve, considering it would be a lateral move. LaFleur would have an opportunity to call plays in Tennessee, which he doesn’t currently have in Los Angeles, so that may entice him.
