There was a lot of change at this position group last year with Ryan Kelly and Will Fries leaving in free agency. However, second-year players Tanor Bortolini and Matt Goncalves stepped in and held their own.
Among all centers, Bortolini ranked 16th in pass-blocking efficiency and third in PFF’s run-blocking grade. Goncalves ranked 51st and 32nd in those same categories out of 85 eligible guards.
Nelson, meanwhile, continued to play at a high level. He was named a second-team All-Pro, ranking fourth in pass-blocking efficiency and fourth in run-blocking grade.
Overall, PFF had the Colts’ offensive line unit rated as one of the best in 2025.
What is the need along the interior offensive line for the Colts in 2026?
Well, all of their starters from 2025 are still under contract. So in that regard, there aren’t many questions here.
With that said, Nelson is in the final year of his deal — could he be a contract extension candidate this offseason?
In addition to that, bolstering the depth with added competition should be on GM Chris Ballard’s radar.
