Will free agent linebacker Devin Lloyd end up back with the Jacksonville Jaguars this offseason?

Mason Cameron of Pro Football Focus recently selected the “best landing spots” for 10 upcoming free agents on defense.

When it came to Lloyd, Cameron did not select the Jaguars. Instead, he selected the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.

“The Buccaneers struggled mightily at the linebacker position this season, with the unit as a whole ranking 28th in PFF overall grade,” wrote Cameron. “Lavonte David is weighing retirement, and SirVocea Dennis ranked 90th out of 94 qualifying linebackers in PFF coverage grade (30.5) this past season, so upgrading the position with Lloyd would be an immediate boost.”

Lloyd is coming off a career year, which included being named a second-team All-Pro and a Pro Bowler.

Lloyd did a bit of everything for the Jacksonville defense under Anthony Campanile. He totaled 25 pressures as a blitzer during the regular season and ranked 11th among linebackers in PFF’s run defense grade.

In coverage, he recorded five interceptions and two pass breakups.

“Extremely happy for Devin and his production this season,” GM James Gladstone said during his season-ending press conference, “and finding real footing in a way that aligned with what he knew he could be.

“Looking forward to working through the offseason process with our coaching staff and everyone else to determine what’s best for everybody and seeing if there’s something to be done.”

As you can imagine, Lloyd is in store for a big payday. According to Spotrac, Lloyd is projected to land a three-year contract worth $60.4 million.

Will the Jaguars be the ones to offer him a big deal?
