After the Buffalo Bills once again failed to reach the Super Bowl, team owner Terry Pegula made the surprising move to fire head coach Sean McDermott.
The Bills faced backlash from fans for firing McDermott but promoting Bills general manager Brandon Beane. The front office drew even more criticism following Beane and Pegula’s press conference and their rocky delivery explaining what led to the decision.
The Bills came under fire again after interviewing former Indianapolis Colts quarterback Phillip Rivers to be their next head coach. Rivers has no NFL or college coaching experience.
Bills quarterback Josh Allen is sitting in on the interviews, playing a key role in deciding who takes over as the next head coach.

Candidates also include Bills offensive coordinator Joe Brady, former Bills offensive coordinator Brian Daboll, Jaguars offensive coordinator Grant Udinski, Miami Dolphins defensive coordinator Anthony Weaver, Commanders run game coordinator Anthony Lynn, and Colts defensive coordinator Lou Anarumo.
While Allen and the Bills try to get the franchise back on track, the quarterback and his pregnant wife, Hailee Steinfeld, have kept a low profile. Steinfeld canceled her scheduled Substack Live, and in her latest newsletter, she didn’t mention the Bills’ playoff loss at all. Steinfeld instead focused on the positive, which was pretty epic news.
Hailee Steinfeld Celebrated Being in the Most Nominated Film in Oscar History

The 29-year-old actress wrote in Beau Society, “Yesterday, I woke up to the incredible news that Sinners has been nominated for sixteen Academy Awards, which is the most nominations for a single film in the history of the Oscars.”
The previous record was held by “All About Eve,” “Titanic,” and “La La Land, all of which earned 14 nominations. “The announcement made me think about the massive number of people it takes to pull off making a movie — something so great, impactful, memorable, and beautiful,” Steinfeld added.
“The sixteen nominations for Sinners span nearly every department and honor twenty-seven different people who worked on this film (plus many more behind the scenes).
While Steinfeld didn’t earn a nomination for Actress in a Supporting Role, she gushed over everyone who did earn a nod.
“To those it touches, a film means so much more than any award,” she wrote. “But I feel insanely grateful to have worked alongside this specific group of people who’ve come together and made movie history. And, to think, I’m lucky enough to call them family!!”

Steinfeld, who debuted her baby bump at the Golden Globes earlier this month, will likely attend the 98th Academy Awards in Los Angeles in March. Fans hope Allen accompanies her to this year’s award ceremony.
But first comes the NFL Honors, which takes place in San Francisco ahead of Super Bowl LX on February 5. Allen was named a finalist for the Associated Press 2025 NFL Most Valuable Player Award, which he won last year. Steinfeld accompanied Allen to the event in 2025, marking their first red carpet appearance together.
He closed his thank-you speech with a tribute to Steinfeld. “You’ve been my rock, you are my best friend,” he said. “I would not be standing on this stage if it weren’t for you.”
