Lynn spent six seasons with the New York Jets from 2009-14, serving as the running backs coach from 2009-13 and then the assistant head coach/running backs coach in 2014. In 2014, the Jets ranked third in the NFL with 142.5 rushing yards per game.
Lynn has previous ties to the Browns, as he spent two seasons in Cleveland as the running backs coach from 2007-08. During those two seasons, RB Jamal Lewis had back-to-back 1,000-yard seasons with Lynn as his coach.
He began his coaching career with the Denver Broncos as an offensive assistant/assistant special teams coach from 2000-02, before spending two seasons with the Jacksonville Jaguars as the running backs coach from 2003-04. He also was the running backs coach for the Dallas Cowboys for two seasons from 2005-06.
Lynn also had an NFL playing career as a running back, first entering the league as an undrafted free agent in 1992 with the New York Giants. He spent time with the Denver Broncos from 1993-94 and 1997-99, and the San Francisco 49ers from 1995-96. Lynn played in 83 career games and won two Super Bowls (XXXII and XXXIII).
