The Philadelphia Eagles are still looking to replace offensive coordinator Kevin Patullo, fired following the NFC Wild Card Round defeat to the San Francisco 49ers. Philadelphia has interviewed several candidates for the opening and hoped to speak with Dallas Cowboys offensive coordinator Klayton Adams.

The Cowboys blocked the Eagles’ request, Jeremy Fowler of ESPN reported Sunday. Adams will stay put in Dallas, where he helped orchestrate the NFL‘s No. 2 ranked offense in 2025.

Adams, 42, has never called plays in the NFL. He’s been a name to watch this cycle as his reputation has blossomed as a top offensive line coach and run game scheme specialist. Adams has ties to the Eagles, coaching alongside Nick Sirianni and other coaches on the staff during his time with the Indianapolis Colts.

Ultimately, Adams is too important for Dallas to allow him to leave the building. Not to mention, it was the Eagles who came calling, a division rival.

Eagles strike out on Klayton Adams, OC search continues on

Sirianni and co. will have to look elsewhere. The offensive coordinator search is ongoing and Sirianni hasn’t had any luck in landing his top targets. Mike McDaniel and Brian Daboll are both expected to be headed elsewhere. Todd Monken is viewed as the favorite to follow John Harbaugh to New York.

Of what’s remaining, Philadelphia has interviewed/requested to interview former Giants offensive coordinator/interim head coach Mike Kafka, former Tampa Bay Buccaneers offensive coordinator Josh Grizzard, Indianapolis Colts offensive coordinator Jim Bob Cooter, Bears offensive coordinator Declan Doyle and former Kansas City Chiefs offensive coordinator Matt Nagy.
