Although the Tennessee Titans found their next head coach, Robert Saleh will have to wait for his introductory press conference due to Mother Nature.
Many parts of the United States experienced challenging, extreme weather this past weekend, which brought difficult conditions into the early part of the week. That included Tennessee, where the Titans chose to postpone Saleh’s press conference.
The team hired him last week, after Saleh interviewed with various NFL teams for head coaching jobs. He took over the Titans’ job after they fired Brian Callahan in his second season, amid a 1-5 start, and interim head coach Mike McCoy led them to a 3-14 finish.

Saleh, who most recently worked for the San Francisco 49ers as their defensive coordinator, has previously served as head coach of the New York Jets and has also worked on other teams’ coaching staffs.
The Titans chose to hire him over other candidates they’d interviewed, including Kansas City Chiefs offensive coordinator Matt Nagy, Los Angeles Chargers defensive coordinator Jesse Minter, and Los Angeles Rams defensive coordinator Chris Shula.
On Monday, a report from TennesseeTitans.com’s Jim Wyatt stated that the team rescheduled Saleh’s introductory press conference for Thursday at 2 p.m. Eastern Time. Wyatt also indicated in his message that there were “167,000 without power in icy, 18-degree Nashville.”
According to NBC News, the recent storm has affected many parts of the country, as “more than 200 million people are under alerts for severe cold, including almost every state east of the Rockies and outside New England.” Additionally, they reported that the storm caused power outages, deaths, and travel disruptions, including flight cancellations.
That makes for quite the introduction for Saleh, as he changes climates and team situations drastically. After participating in this past year’s impressive 49ers run to the postseason as part of Kyle Shanahan’s coaching staff in San Francisco, Saleh will now take over in colder Tennessee to try to guide the Titans to an improved campaign.
The Titans feature young quarterback Cam Ward, whom the team selected at No. 1 overall in the 2025 NFL Draft, and also hold the No. 4 pick in this year’s draft. Many mock drafts predict they’ll choose a talented player for either their offensive line to protect Ward or someone to help improve their defense, as they ranked among the league’s worst teams last season for scoring defense.
