LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WAVE) – The countdown for the 2026 University of Louisville football season can officially begin as the Cards unveiled the full schedule Monday.
The season opens up in a neutral site game against Ole Miss, with the two facing off at Nissan Stadium in Nashville on either Saturday, Sept. 5 or Sunday, Sept. 6. The ACC will announce its flex dates at a later time.
This will be the second time since 2021 that the Cards and Rebels will meet at a neutral site to start the season, with Ole Miss beating UofL 43-24 in Atlanta to kickoff the ’21 season.
Louisville hosts Villanova on Friday, Sept. 11 for the home opener and the following week will welcome SMU to L&N Stadium for the ACC opener. Since the Mustangs joined the conference in 2024, UofL has yet to score a win over them.
Louisville makes it three-straight home games as Wake Forest comes to the ‘Ville on Sept. 26, making it the first time the Cards have seen the Demon Deacons since a picking up a 48-21 win over then-No. 10 Wake Forest in 2022.
The first true road game of the year comes with Louisville travels to Raleigh to take on NC State on Oct. 3.
Louisville ends the regular season in Lexington where the Cards will look to maintain control of the Governor’s Cup following 2025’s dominant 41-0 beating of the Cats that ended UK’s bowl chances and was the last game of the Mark Stoops era.
