The matchup for Super Bowl LX is officially set, as the Seattle Seahawks and New England Patriots prepare for the big game, with kickoff set for Sunday, February 8, at 6:30 p.m. ET from Levi’s Stadium in Santa Clara, California.
The Patriots rallied in a low-scoring affair with Denver to kick off championship Sunday, defeating the Jarrett Stidham-led Broncos 10-7. Denver was without Bo Nix, who suffered a season-ending ankle injury in the team’s overtime win over the Bills in the divisional round, while a snowy and windy second half rendered offensive production on either side ineffective. MVP candidate and second-year quarterback Drake Maye cleaned up the turnovers, which have plagued him as of late, leading New England to advance to Super Bowl 60 in Mike Vrabel’s first year as the team’s head coach with just 86 total passing yards, no touchdowns and no interceptions.

The NFC championship offered NFL fans seeking offense a bit more joie de vivre, as the Los Angeles Rams and Seahawks combined for 879 yards of offense. Seattle defeated LA 31-27, despite a strong performance from Matthew Stafford, who finished the day with 374 passing yards, 3 touchdowns and 0 interceptions, taking just a single sack on the day for a nine-yard loss. Sam Darnold posted an equally impressive stat line of 346 yards, 3 touchdowns and 0 interceptions after having struggled against the Rams over two games in the regular season (two touchdowns, six interceptions).
LA’s hopes of another Super Bowl under head coach Sean McVay were nearly realized with a third-quarter taunting penalty against Seahawks cornerback Riq Woolen to set up a Rams touchdown that kept it close. However, late in the fourth quarter, the Seahawks managed a fourth-down stop at the goal line, which had the potential to give the Rams a late lead. That play — which McVay later called a “fortuitous bust” in his post-game presser — all but sealed the deal on Seattle’s trip to Santa Clara.
Meanwhile, the head coaching searches for the Las Vegas Raiders, Buffalo Bills, Cleveland Browns and Arizona Cardinals continue this week, with those teams now able to pursue additional interviews with candidates from the staff of the Broncos and Los Angeles Rams, now that they’ve been eliminated from postseason contention.

New England Patriots quarterback Drake Maye was asked on WEEI if he expects to be limited at all over the next two weeks leading up to the Super Bowl.
“I think it’s too early to say. Right now, feeling good and looking forward to getting out there and prepping for the Seahawks and prepping to get ready to go.”
Maye is believed to have hurt his right shoulder during the AFC title game on Sunday in Denver during a scramble play in the third quarter. A similar question was downplayed by head coach Mike Vrabel concerning Maye’s status.

The New England Patriots beat the Denver Broncos in the AFC title game on Sunday to advance to Super Bowl LX. In that game, quarterback Drake Maye looked to have hurt his right shoulder in the third quarter on a scramble play where a Broncos defender fell on top of him.
When asked about it, head coach Mike Vrabel barely acknowledged the injury. While it doesn’t seem to be anything serious, all eyes will be fixed on Maye and any potential setbacks leading up to Super Bowl LX.

Usually, when teams have a middle-of-the-road quarterback, they hold on no matter the cost despite knowing deep down that they can’t go to a Super Bowl with him. Those making decisions generally don’t have enough time to make a quarterback change and survive it if it doesn’t hit big right away. So they play it safe.
The Seattle Seahawks have made two bold moves at quarterback in the past few years. And they’re going to the Super Bowl because of it.

Seattle Seahawks left tackle Charles Cross is dealing with foot soreness following Sunday’s NFC title game victory over the LA Rams, but should be fine. Cross has been dealing with the foot injury for a while, so this isn’t viewed as anything serious.
Cross missed three games this season but has been pretty durable overall since entering the league in 2022 as a first-round draft pick for the Seahawks.

The New England Patriots and Seattle Seahawks are headed to Super Bowl LX after winning their respective conference championships on Sunday, and ticket prices are already steep.
Just after the matchup was set, the get-in price for the Feb. 8 game in San Francisco was just under $6,000, including fees, on Gametime.
That number was around $5,700 earlier Sunday, as well as before the NFC Championship, after the Patriots’ win.
