(WRGB) — The Buffalo Bills have promoted offensive coordinator Joe Brady to head coach. The deal is for five years.
Brady, 36, has been with the Bills for four seasons and served as the offensive coordinator for two full seasons after initially joining as the quarterbacks’ coach.
His promotion follows the recent firing of Sean McDermott, who served as head coach for nine years. Brady, who has no prior head-coaching experience in the NFL, began his career with the New Orleans Saints and later contributed to LSU’s 2019 national championship team as passing game coordinator. He also served as the Carolina Panthers’ offensive coordinator before being dismissed in 2021.
In 2024, Brady’s offense broke records, when his team became the first in NFL history to score at least 30 rushing and 30 receiving touchdowns in a single season.
