BATON ROUGE, La. (WAFB) – Viewers of the Super Bowl will see a lot of former LSU Tigers on the football field.
The big game between New England and Seattle will feature six players who wore purple and gold during their college football careers.
Five former Tigers are on the roster for the Patriots. They’re offensive tackle Will Campbell, wide receiver Kayshon Boutte, linebacker K’Lavon Chaisson, linebacker Bradyn Swinson, and Jaquelin Roy. Starting guard Anthony Bradford will take the field for the Seahawks.
LSU has had at least one former Tiger on the roster of a team competing in a Super Bowl for 25 consecutive years. The streak dates back to 2002, which is the year running back Kevin Faulk played for the Patriots.
The game between New England and Seattle is set for Sunday, Feb. 8, in California. Kickoff is scheduled for 5:30 p.m.
