The portion of Tennessee football’s fanbase that stays in-state for their NFL allegiance may be getting some exciting news this offseason. With free agency looming, outlets are logging predictions for where eligible players will sign.
According to a recent prediction from CBS, a former Vol may return to the Volunteer State. The publication predicted former UT star wide receiver Jauan Jennings to sign with the Tennessee Titans this year.
“Jennings had a breakout 2024 and followed it up with a solid 2025 that included nine receiving touchdowns,” CBS’s Zachary Pereles wrote. “He’s a big, strong reliable receiver who is especially effective on third downs, and Robert Saleh would love to bring him along from San Francisco to Tennessee.”
As Pereles noted, there’s a sort of connection between Jennings and the Titans, outside of returning to his home state. The Titans just hired Robert Saleh as their next head coach, who spent this past season as the 49ers’ defensive coordinator.

CBS also listed the Buffalo Bills, Atlanta Falcons and a return to the San Francisco 49ers as possible candidates to land Jennings. He’ll be highly sought after due to an emergence as a dependable receiver and strong blocker at the NFL level.
In 2025, Jennings caught 55 passes for 643 yards and nine touchdowns. The year prior, he caught 77 passes for 975 yards and six touchdowns during a breakout campaign.
In college, he was a rare brightspot on Jeremy Pruitt’s 2019 team that opened the year with a loss to Georgia State. Jennings was a big reason the team was able to recover and finish the year 7-5 before beating Indiana in the Gator Bowl. That year, he recorded 59 catches for 969 yards and eight touchdowns.
Jennings was also on the receiving end of the hail mary to beat Georgia in 2016 and a down-the-sideline touchdown against Florida that same season in a critical win under Butch Jones.
He was born in Cowan, Tennessee, and attended Blackman High School in Murfreesboro.
