Day 1 of the Senior Bowl is in the books, and there is good news for the Jacksonville Jaguars.
One of the perceived big positions of need for the Jaguars this offseason is along the defensive line. Depth and more consistent pass rush juice, particularly from the interior, are boxes that have to be checked.
Well, on the first day of practice, that unit on both the American and National teams was able to stand out.
Dave Richard of CBS Sports had this to say:
“The first day of Senior Bowl practices belonged to the defensive linemen. Both teams fielded multiple big maulers who routinely humiliated their own offensive lines.”

NFL.com’s Lance Zierlein echoed similar sentiments. He noted his top five standouts from the first practice, and included were edge defenders TJ Parker and Derrick Moore, along with linebacker Kyle Louis — another potential need depending on whether or not Devin Lloyd returns.
Parker has recorded 92 pressures and 18 sacks over the last two seasons. He’s graded out very well as a run defender by PFF’s metrics as well.
Moore has had steadily increasing production the last three seasons, going from 26 pressures in 2023 to 37 to 41 this past year. This also includes logging 11 sacks in 2025.
After trading up in the first round of last year’s draft to select Travis Hunter, the Jaguars do not have a first-round pick in 2026. Their first selection won’t come until Day 2.
However, GM James Gladstone still maintains quite a bit of flexibility with 11 total picks and four selections in the top 100.
