GLENDALE – The Arizona Cardinals have been losing fan support for the past few years. In two of the last three seasons, Arizona has had 13 or more losses, including a franchise record 14 losses last season. Despite the poor results, owner Michael Bidwill is still finding ways to luxury, but expensive, gameday plans like Casa Roja at the Fifty this past season.

The losses and the expensive in-stadium experience led to the Cardinals have the 30th ranked home attendance in the entire NFL.

NFL’s 17-game schedule leads this chart to be skewed because half of the team are playing nine home games, while the other have eight. Regardless, Arizona still ranks 14th out of 16th, with Philadelphia and Chicago behind. The Eagles and Bears had widely more successful season, but Stadium capacity and the weather aspect must be considered as freezing temperature likely drove some fans away. The Cardinals have the luxury of playing in a dome and in a dry climate

In 2024, Arizona was 13th in teams that played nine home games, and 15th the year prior for eight-home game franchises. Bidwill has a couple of options, lowering in-stadium food and focusing more the common fan game experience rather than adding more luxury seating. However, the most obvious is putting a better product on the field.

From 2013-2017, the Cardinals went 49-30-1 with two playoff appearances. Through those years, there were slight improvements in attendance going from 25th to 21st. Arizona hovered around the high 20’s until a 3-13 2018 season tanked them to being a bottom three team for a majority of the past seven seasons.

Hope goes a long way for fans interest, and for Bidwill to regain that, an inspiring new head coach will go a long way.
