Shane Steichen will enter his fourth season as head coach of the Colts
Head coach Shane Steichen was in the hot seat entering the 2025 NFL season, but he was able to complete the season. He will return for a fourth season with the Indianapolis Colts after some promising performances.
While returning for another season in Indy, Steichen may have to find new pieces for his coaching staff as he may lose one of his key coordinators.
Defensive coordinator Lou Anarumo, who was hired for the 2025 season, was recieving head coaching interviews. Still, no job ever came to fruition and will remain with the team for a second season.
Now another coordinator is getting some interviews, including for a recent Super Bowl-winning team.
Coordinator On The Move?

According to ESPN’s Jeremy Fowler, the Philadelphia Eagles have interviewed Indianapolis Colts offensive coordinator Jim Bob Cooter for the team’s vacant OC spot after parting ways with Kevin Patullo after one season calling the plays.
The Eagles’ offense under Patullo was finished in the bottom half of the league in points per game, total yards and passing yards.
Adding Jim Bob Cooter will give the Eagles an offensive coordinator who is an outside hire for the team, which could bring some new light to the offense.
The Colts had one of the best scoring offenses in the NFL, averaging 27.4 points per game, without a constant quarterback starting all 17 games for the team.
The run game can notice development with Jim Bob’s experience coaching Jonathan Taylor, which can translate over to Saquon Barkley.
If Jim Bob does decide to get a change of scenery, it would benefit it a bunch. Philadelphia has its franchise starter in Jalen Hurts, something Jim Bob never had during his time with the Colts.
Jim Bob Cooter Has Second Interview Lined Up

Recent news reveals that Jim Bob Cooter will have an interview with the New York Giants and get to be part of new head coach John Harbaugh’s coaching staff, according to ESPN’s Peter Schrager.
With a young quarterback in Jaxson Dart and a dual run game in Tyrone Tracy and Cam Skattebo, Malik Nabers, who has shown he can be a leading receiver, the Giants’ vacant offensive coordinator job is quite promising.
Both jobs can be seen as an upgrade for Jim Bob Cooter in terms of what the team can provide with the player standing behind the center, but the surrounding core of the Indianapolis Colts can be one of the best in the league.
The Colts’ offense was performing well with Daniel Jones at quarterback and could be the franchise option the team has been searching for the last few seasons; it’s just a matter of whether Indy brings him back.
If Jim Bob Cooter goes elsewhere, Shane Steichen will lose one of the longest-tenured coordinators.
