Look, that, that situation there, as much as we wanna talk about Minner right now, and what he’s gonna do, and- Mm-hmm … all that, that’s great, but Steve Bisciotti said straight up, “I wanna get this contract extension done with Lamar, and I wanna get it done- Right … before free agency.”
I don’t think, of, of all the priorities we can talk about right now, I can’t stop thinking about that moment.
Because that is, that is an owner pressing.
He’s saying, “We’re not gonna drag this on into the off-season, we’re not gonna do all this, you know, crap that we did before.”
I’m, you know, obviously I’m trying to translate here.

But they have a cap issue, right?
I mean, he’s got a, a $70 million-plus cap number in, in 2026, and they have to adjust that, or they’re gonna have to restructure a heck of a lot of guys, and the best way to get this done is just to do an extension now.
I’m, I’m telling you, this is gonna be the story.
We’re gonna end up talking about this- We’re six weeks away … at the combine.
Yeah, we’re six weeks away- Yep … but it’s, I feel- Ah, we’re at- It’s, that pressure- You are dead on, man … is gonna build and build.
Yeah.
I have heard the same thing.
It’s gonna be the huge story in February.
Absolutely.

March 11, 4:00 PM Eastern, circle it right now in your calendar.
That is the start of the new league year, and there are a lot of moving pieces ahead of that new league year, as there are every year.
Lamar Jackson’s contract is going to be a massive story, massive story, and I wouldn’t be surprised if teams are willing to pick up the phone and call.
I’m not saying they’re trading him.
And I, and, and I’ll ask you guys- But you should call.
I’ll ask you guys, and, and I, I, and honestly, I think this gives a little bit of the temperature: how often do you see an owner get up, in the middle of a press conference- Mm-hmm … and say that to everyone?

“I want to do this extension by here.”
you just don’t ever see that, and I’m like, wow, this is, this is both a read on what happened before, and it’s a read on what is coming.
Like, it, it’s just- Yeah …
I, that quote rings in my head over and over again, and I’m like, man, when we get to February, we’re all gonna be talking about this.
When we get into early March, we’re all gonna be talking about this.
And you know what?
Lamar’s probably not gonna be saying anything, ’cause he doesn’t have an agent, he doesn’t have someone out there who’s, you know, doing the managing behind the scenes and letting you know, “Hey, here’s what’s going on, here’s the read on this.

This is the progress that’s being made.”
Instead, it’s, it’s the Ravens shrugging and going, “Yeah, okay, we wanna get a deal done,” and it’s Lamar maybe occasionally saying something on social media, but us not really ever knowing what’s truly transpiring between the two, because he has nobody to translate for the media.
