The Pittsburgh Steelers have signed wide receiver A.T. Perry to the team’s offseason roster. Perry has inked a Reserve/Future contract, making him the first signing of the Mike McCarthy era.

A sixth-round pick of the New Orleans Saints in 2023, Perry has appeared in 10 career games. All occurred during his rookie season. He caught 12 passes for 246 yards and four touchdowns across 343 offensive snaps.

He was unable to build on that success. The Saints waived him in October of 2024, and he didn’t play a snap the rest of the season. The Denver Broncos signed him to the practice squad but didn’t elevate him during the season. Signed to a Reserve/Future contract in 2025, he was carried through the offseason but began training camp on the Physically Unable to Perform (PUP) list due to an ankle injury. Activated in mid-August, he was waived during final cutdowns but signed back to the practice squad after clearing waivers.

A draftnik sleeper at Wake Forest, he had two strong final seasons with the Demon Deacons. Perry crossed the 1,000-yard mark in 2021 and 2022, including an ACC-leading 1,096 receiving yards in his final season.

Weighing in at 6034, 198 pounds at the 2023 NFL Combine, Perry ran a strong 4.47 40-yard dash. He leapt 35 inches in the vert and 11’1″ in the broad. At his Pro Day, he showed well in agility drills with a 4.32 short shuttle and 6.81 three cone.

Our pre-draft scouting report praised Perry for his vertical speed and ability to win in contested catch situations. Negatively, he struggled to track the football, and too many drops and missed chances littered his tape. We concluded:

“Overall, A.T. Perry is a long receiver that has the skill and athleticism to win down the field as a deep threat. His height and leaping ability aid in his chances of winning jump ball situations while still being able to operate as a volume receiver underneath. He can be frustrating at times regarding his ability to track the deep ball and play physical, but his skill set does translate to the league as a WR 3/4 that can play outside or as a big slot, providing an offense with a longer passing game target.”

Perry will look to stick on the offseason roster and impress in training camp to make a push to make the 53 and see the field again.
