In what was a busy 2025 offseason for James Gladstone, what was the Jacksonville Jaguars’ best free agent signing last March?

Bradley Locker of Pro Football Focus recently set out to answer that question for each NFL team. When it came to the Jaguars, he selected cornerback Jourdan Lewis.

“The ex-Cowboy earned a 69.0 PFF coverage grade before having his impressive season cut short in Week 16,” Locker wrote. “Moreover, Lewis’ 0.96 yards per snap was the fifth-lowest mark among qualified slot corners, proving he was well worth his $30 million pact.”

Unfortunately, Lewis’ season was ended early due to a foot injury he sustained in Week 16. But before then, he held opponents to just 7.6 yards per catch while recording two interceptions and four pass breakups.

What can go unnoticed as well is Lewis’ ability as a communicator pre-snap, calling out adjustments and ensuring that the other second and third level defenders know their responsibilities on a given play.

In addition to that, upon arriving in Jacksonville, Lewis quickly emerged as one of the leaders of this Jaguars team.

Adding Lewis to the secondary and this team as a whole proved to be quite valuable for the Jaguars.
