After Thursday’s news that Denver Broncos quarterbacks coach and passing game coordinator Davis Webb removed his name from consideration for the Las Vegas Raiders’ head coach opening, it’s never been clearer that the Raiders’ top choice is Seattle Seahawks offensive coordinator Klint Kubiak. But what’s Las Vegas’ backup plan if it can’t land Kubiak? According to ESPN’s Jeremy Fowler, it’s the Carolina Panthers defensive coordinator Ejiro Evero.
“Eyes on Klint Kubiak for the Raiders job, but Panthers DC Ejiro Evero is still in the mix there. Some candidates have been eliminated, but he has not,” Fowler posted on X. “He conveyed a detailed QB/offensive plan in an in-person meeting with the Raiders. Raiders regime and Evero have Denver ties.”
Evero had an in-person interview with the Raiders after the Panthers’ playoff loss to the Los Angeles Rams. He’s been the defensive coordinator in Carolina for three seasons, previously serving in the same role in Denver during the 2022 campaign.

Meanwhile, Kubiak is scheduled to meet with the Raiders on Saturday for a second interview. But the Silver and Black will have competition as he’ll also be speaking with the Arizona Cardinals, too.
