Todd Monken has made his second hire after he hired former Baltimore Ravens offensive line coach George Warhop for the same position as his first hire. Now, Monken has decided on who will be his offensive coordinator this year for the Cleveland Browns. Monken is bringing another Ravens assistant over with him. Aaron Wilson is reporting that Travis Switzer will be the Browns’ offensive coordinator.
Aaron Wilson also quoted an NFL source talking about the relationship between Monken and Switzer with the Ravens. “Travis was Todd Monken’s right-hand man. He’s a very, very smart, excellent coach.” Switzer has been with the Ravens for nine years, serving as the team’s run game coordinator for the past two seasons.
Switzer started his NFL coaching career in 2017 and has worked for the Ravens ever since. Before he got into coaching, Switzer was an offensive lineman for the Akron Zips.
It will be interesting to see if Monken continues to bring more Ravens coaches over with him, but more importantly, who he ends up having as his defensive coordinator, whether they make amends with Jim Schwartz or move on.
