The Carolina Panthers have parted ways with two members of their scouting department.
As first reported by Joe Person of The Athletic on Thursday, the Panthers have let go of director of player personnel Cole Spencer and college scout Robert Haines.

Spencer, who previously spent over a decade as part of the Washington Commanders‘ scouting department, initially joined the organization as the college scouting director in 2021. He was promoted to the director of player personnel in June of 2023.
Haines, a graduate of Page High School in Greensboro, N.C. and East Carolina University, has spent each of his 22 NFL seasons with the Panthers. He began in their video department in 2002, and went on to pick up roles as a college scouting assistant (2005 to 2006), pro scouting assistant (2007), combine scout (2008 to 2009), Northeast area scout (2010 to 2020), Southeast area scout (2021) and national scout (2022 to 2024).
Person added that the vacated positions will be absorbed internally, and the Panthers have no immediate plans to replace either Spencer or Haines.
