Minnesota Vikings WR Justin Jefferson stirred some trade speculation involving the Buffalo Bills
Many are thrilled to see what newly hired head coach Joe Brady does during his first offseason at the helm of the Buffalo Bills, including … Minnesota Vikings receiver Justin Jefferson?
Brady has some pretty big shoes to fill in following Sean McDermott.
The 51-year-old now-unemployed coach won 98 games over nine seasons with 8 playoff appearances, 5 AFC East championships, and 2 trips to the AFC Championship.
But Brady was promoted from offensive coordinator to head coach to do what McDermott couldn’t: bring a Super Bowl championship to Buffalo.
While Brady surely has the unwavering support of Bills Mafia, he also has another unusual supporter in Jefferson.
Jefferson’s Comments About Brady Turns Heads

During a recent appearance on the “Sports Seriously” podcast, Jefferson was asked what he thought about Brady’s promotion to Bills head coach — to which he gave an intriguing answer that sparked some wild fan reactions on social media.
“He’s already been doing a phenomenal job behind the scenes,” Jefferson said. “… He’s a great coach. Having him as my offensive coordinator [at LSU] my 2019 year, we had so much fun together just building and working on our craft.
“I feel like he was mostly the reason why I got picked first round. He’s the reason why my hands got better, why a lot of things occurred during that season, so I’m just proud of him to go from the (New Orleans) Saints to LSU and now he’s back in the league and about to be a head coach.
“So, it’s a blessing — it’s honestly just crazy to see the change over the past six years. I’m happy for him, I’m happy to see the different things he’ll do, especially, of course, with Josh Allen at quarterback. I’m excited to see how he carries that team.”
Brady was Jefferson’s offensive coordinator during the 2019 season at LSU (along with Cincinnati Bengals stars Joe Burrow and Ja’Marr Chase) — and the All-Pro wideout didn’t hide his pride in the fact that his former coach is now getting a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity.
Bills Trade Speculation Heats Up

Jefferson’s comments about Brady seemed to have convinced several fans on social media that the six-time 1,000-yard WR is angling for a trade to Buffalo.
“He’s not happy in Minnesota. Their GM was just fired today. Their QB situation is a mess. If Beane wants to kick this new era off properly & weaponize his QB, Jefferson needs to be a Bill in 2026,” one fan wrote.
“That 17 to 18 connection is going to be legendary,” another fan added.
“I would literally do anything to have a josh allen jettas cook offense😭😭😭,” a third fan exclaimed.
“100% a Bill in 2026-2027,” one user posted.
“Justin Jefferson on the Bills would shatter my existence,” remarked another user.
“I said this a year ago btw. Jettas going to the Bills. That MVP was all Allen needed to get another star WR lol,” one fan proclaimed.
While a Jefferson to Buffalo trade would be the kind of Luka Doncic-Anthony Davis blockbuster trade to shake up the NFL, the logistics make it a difficult trade to pull off.
Minnesota will surely ask for a king’s ransom for the 26-year-old wideout. Some have speculated it would cost at least 3 first-round picks to even get the Vikings to listen to any offers.
And Buffalo would have to do all kinds of cap gymnastics to fit Jefferson’s $38.98 million cap hit to fit within its budget.
