Along with Cam Ward and Mike Borgonzi, one of the draws for the Tennessee Titans‘ head coaching vacancy was their salary cap situation, and on Friday, that situation got even better.Â
NFL Insider Tom Pelissero reports that the NFL informed teams that the 2026 salary cap will be set somewhere between $301.2 million and $305.7 million per club, a significant increase from the in-season projections. This is great news for the Titans, who were already leading the league in available cap space and had paths they could take to add some more.Â
The Titans appear to be entering the offseason with over $99 million in cap space (Spotrac} as well as one of the youngest rosters in the league. Plus, with some veterans, such as L’Jarius Sneed, question marks heading into the offseason, the Titans could get younger and free up even more cap room.Â
This should be great news for some veterans who may have been on the bubble heading into the offseason. With the extra space, players such as Calvin Ridley, Tony Pollard, and Lloyd Cushenberry suddenly become more attractive at their cap numbers as compared to an outside veteran that may attempt to command a higher salary.Â
This should also be a positive for both Borgonzi and head coach Robert Saleh as they attempt to attract some impact free agents to Nashville to help rebuild the Titans.Â
