The Miami Dolphins announced Thursday the signing of quarterback Brett Gabbert, who played the past six seasons for the Miami University RedHawks.

Last season, Gabbert passed for 2,921 yards and 21 touchdowns in 14 games while leading the RedHawks to the Mid-American Conference title game, which they lost to the Ohio Bobcats. Gabbert led MU to a 43-17 win against Colorado State in the Arizona Bowl.
