Jan. 27 (UPI) — The Los Angeles Chargers signed defensive tackle Teair Tart to a three-year, $37.5 million contract extension, agent Drew Rosenhaus announced.
Tart’s pact includes $20 million guaranteed. The 6-foot-2, 315-pound defender, who signed a one-year, $4.5 million contract in March, is now tied to the Chargers through 2028.

Tart totaled 32 combined tackles, including a career-high 22 solo takedowns, over 17 starts in 2025-26. He also logged four tackles for a loss, four passes defensed, a forced fumble and a fumble recovery in his sixth season.
The former Florida International University defensive lineman totaled 140 combined tackles, 86 solo tackles, 25 tackles for a loss, 13 passes defensed, 3.5 sacks, three fumble recoveries, two interceptions and two forced fumbles over the first 81 appearances of his NFL career.
Tart previously spent time with the Tennessee Titans, Houston Texans and Miami Dolphins.
