The Pittsburgh Steelers, Minnesota Vikings, Miami Dolphins, and New York Jets are predicted to have interest in a former No. 1 overall pick quarterback this offseason.

CBS Sports’ Tyler Sullivan believes the Arizona Cardinals could look to cut ties with Kyler Murray this offseason, and names the Steelers, Vikings, Dolphins, and Jets as possible trade suitors for the 28-year-old.

Sullivan adds that a second-round pick is his projected compensation for Murray in a trade with the Cardinals.

Murray had a rough 2025 campaign, playing just five games due to a foot injury and going 2-3 in his starts.

With the Cardinals set to move in a different direction with a new coach, Murray’s time in Arizona could be over. The 2019 No. 1 overall pick has struggled with injuries over the last few years and has failed to lead the Cardinals back to the playoffs after appearing in the postseason in 2021.

If Arizona moves on from Murray, a trade to the Steelers and Vikings would make the most sense.

Pittsburgh may need to pivot at quarterback again if Aaron Rodgers retires. Replacing Murray with Rodgers could give the Steelers a solid stopgap option who could become the long-term answer.

Minnesota is looking to add veteran competition for J.J. McCarthy this offseason, but if the franchise wants to completely replace the 2024. No. 10 overall pick, trading for Murray could be the move that needs to be made.

However, Murray’s monstrous $230 million contract could scare the Steelers and Vikings away from agreeing on a deal, which could open the door for other quarterback-needy teams, like the Dolphins and Jets.

Tua Tagovailia’s time in Miami looks to be over, just as Justin Fields’ in New York. The Dolphins and Jets could enter the Murray market to solve their quarterback needs, but neither is set up for immediate success with Murray at quarterback.

We’ll see if the Cardinals decide to trade Murray and where he would land. However, there’s no denying that a fresh start is needed for both sides.
