Yakima, Wash. — Jennifer King, the first Black woman to coach in the NFL, will be speaking at several events across the Yakima Valley for Black History Month celebrations.

King began her NFL career as an intern for the Washington Commanders, before becoming an assistant running backs coach. She went on to join the Chicago Bears coaching staff after the 2023 season. She is currently a wide receivers coach at North Carolina Central University.

After speaking at several Yakima high schools, King will speak at the Henry Beauchamp Community Center from 6:30 p.m. to 8 p.m. on Feb 4. The event is open to the public.

King will first speak at the Yakima Chamber of Commerce from 11 a.m. to noon on Feb. 5.

King will then speak at the Yakima Convention Center from noon to 1:15 p.m., before speaking at Central Washington University at 6:30 p.m.
