The Green Bay Packers have been busily filling out the coaching staff of new defensive coordinator Jonathan Gannon. He himself was quickly added to Matt LaFleur‘s staff when Jeff Hafley accepted the head coaching position with the Miami Dolphins. And he has since taken some now-former Packers coaches with him.
Secondary coach Ryan Downard and linebackers coach Sean Duggan were the first to accept roles on Hafley staff. Wendel Davis, who had been on LaFleur’s staff since his arrival in Green Bay in 2019, also is leaving for Miami.
And now, Hafley finally pried away one of the Packers’ offensive coaches.

On Thursday, it was reported that Nathaniel Hackett was being hired away from Green Bay to be the quarterbacks coach for Halfey’s Dolphins:
Sources say Nathaniel Hackett will join Jeff Hafley’s coaching staff in Miami as QBs coach.

Hackett was previously a defensive analyst for the Packers, working with Hafley and giving him an offensive coach’s point of view. Before that, he was the offensive coordinator of the New York Jets, a job that reunited him with Aaron Rodgers following his failed stint as the head coach of the Denver Broncos.
Before being hired by Denver, Hackett was the offensive coordinator for a Packers team that made back-to-back NFC Championship Games.
In addition to losing Hackett, Green Bay saw their quarterback coach, Sean Mannion, leave to be the next offensive coordinator of the Philadelphia Eagles. It is possible that LaFleur will promote Luke Getsy to the position again, as he was the quarterbacks coach in Green Bay while Hackett was the offensive coordinator.
Regardless of how LaFleur chooses to replace these coaches, though, the offensive staff appears to be going through some pretty significant changes too.
