Looking back on the 2025 offseason, which free agent addition made by GM Chris Ballard turned out to be the best for the Indianapolis Colts?

Bradley Locker of Pro Football Focus recently answered this question for each team, and when it came to the Colts, the answer is fairly clear.

Although he would miss the latter portion of the season due to injury, Daniel Jones’ impact on the Colts was massive.

Through 10 games, the Colts were 8-2 and boasted one of the most productive offenses in football, led by Jones. Individually, Jones ranked among the best at the quarterback position in a number of key categories.

“The former Giant produced a 68.7 PFF passing grade with a 3.1% big-time throw rate before suffering a Week 14 Achilles tear, although he also added 18 turnover-worthy plays,” Locker wrote.

Jones is set to be a free agent this offseason, but there seems to be little mystery around what his future holds.

Ballard and Shane Steichen have both made it known that they want Jones back, and Jones has said he would “love” to return.

“I think it’s mutual on both sides,” Ballard said of re-signing Daniel Jones. “I feel very good about Daniel Jones. Where he’s at and where he’s going.”
