Tennessee Titans coach Robert Saleh has a coordinated plan for quarterback Cam Ward next season.
Saleh appeared at his introductory press conference for the Titans as their new head coach on Thursday. The NFL head coach of four years officially signed with Tennessee on Jan. 22. Saleh inherits a young team led by quarterback Cam Ward.
In front of the media on Thursday, Saleh elaborated on how he will approach coaching Ward next season:
“So, the biggest thing that we’re gonna work with Cam, just going all the way back to the beginning. We’ve gotten a whole offseason to work with him. Take him back to the very, very beginning both on the field, off the field. The process at which, what it looks like to not only be a professional with regards to preparation in his body, but as a professional with regards to preparing from a gameplanning standpoint, or a playbook standpoint,” Saleh said.
Ward was heralded entering the year for the Titans. On the field, the former No. 1 overall pick from 2025 executed well in run-pass option plays. However, Ward overthrew on his receivers with regularity throughout the year.

Saleh brings experience to the Titans, having coached mobile quarterbacks in Aaron Rodgers as well as Zach Wilson during his tenure as coach of the New York Jets. Saleh will be tasked with helping Ward improve his 59.8 percent completion rate from the regular season, as well as his decision-making next season.
