Here are capsules on the 32 athletes who have verbally committed or signed with Utah State’s football team out of the transfer portal.
STEVEN SANNIENIOLA, S, TROY
The former Troy and Vanderbilt defensive back has announced his commitment to the Aggies on Instagram. The 6-foot-2, 205-pounder didn’t play in any games for the Trojans this past season. He spent three seasons at Vanderbilt from 2022-24, where he was credited with 11 total tackles.
BJ DIAKITE, EDGE, NORTH ALABAMA
This graduate transfer has announced his commitment to the Aggies on Instagram. Diakite contributed with five tackles and one quarterback hurry in four games this past season for FCS program North Alabama. The 6-4, 250-pounder played at Vanderbilt from 2022-24 and played quite a bit during his first two seasons. Diakite accounted for 32 tackles, 5.0 for a loss, and 2.0 sacks in 20 games during his first two seasons with the Commodores.
The former All-American at Snow College has himself listed as an Aggie on his profile on X. Wilfred played in one game in his two seasons at Auburn. The 6-5, 329-pounder was a standout on Snow College’s team in 2023. He played his final two seasons of high school ball at national power Bishop Gorman (Nevada).
This will be the three collegiate stop for Mageo, who has himself listed as an Aggie on his profile on Instagram. The 6-5, 294-pounder played in two games in each of the past two seasons at Baylor, where he was credited with four tackles. Mageo played at Mississippi Gulf Community College in 2022 and 2023, and finished with 11 tackles and 2.0 sacks in nine games as a redshirt freshman.
KYE STOKES, S, CINCINNATI
Stokes is headed to Logan as a graduate transfer for his final year of eligibility, according to Brian Phillips of Big Blue USU Aggie News. The 6-2, 195-pounder played in 12 games in each of the past two seasons at Cincinnati and was credited with nine tackles. Stokes spent his first two seasons at Ohio State and played a fair amount as a true freshman as he produced 12 tackles, including one for a loss, and one forced fumble in eight games.
Johnson, who is down to his final year of eligibility, has himself listed as an Aggie on his profile on Instagram. Johnson played in seven games and started once this past season at California, where he was credited with 117 yards and two touchdowns on 34 carries.
This will be Johnson’s fourth collegiate stop as he played at Texas A&M from 2021-22 and at SMU from 2023-24. The 5-10, 215-pounder played in 24 games, highlighted by seven starters, in his two seasons at SMU, where he accounted for 879 yards rushing and nine TDs. He was rated as a 4-star recruit in high school by 247sports, Rivals and ESPN.
ANTONIO BLUIETT, CB, NORTH DAKOTA
This graduate transfer has himself listed as an Aggie on his profile on Instagram. Bluiett is coming off a big redshirt junior season at FCS program North Dakota, where he garnered first-team all-conference honors and honorable mention AP All-America accolades. He was the seventh-highest rated FCS cornerback by PFSN College.
Bluiett contributed with 29 tackles — 25 of the solo variety — 2.0 tackles for loss, 1.0 sack, three interceptions and six passes broken up in 10 games this past season for the Fighting Hawks. The 6-1, 200-pounder spent four seasons at North Dakota and also played a lot of games during the 2023 and 2024 seasons as he was credited with 49 tackles those two years. He started as a redshirt sophomore and redshirt junior.
KASEN LONG, DL, TEXAS TECH
Long has himself listed as an Aggie on his profile on X (formerly Twitter). The 6-6, 280-pounder spent the previous two seasons at Texas Tech, where he redshirted as a true freshman in 2024 and was credited with one tackle in two games this past season. Long was highly coveted as a high school product as he chose Texas Tech over fellow scholarship offers from the likes of Texas, Oklahoma and TCU.
TYLER MASDEA, DT, SHIPPENBURG
This graduate transfer is down to his final year of eligibility and has posted USU as his landing spot on social media. The 6-1, 285-pounder spent his first four seasons at Division II program Shippenburg (Pennsylvania) University and started for the Raiders in 2024 and 2025.
Masdea contributed with 17 tackles, including 3.0 for a loss, 1.5 sacks, one forced fumble and four quarterback hurries in nine games this past season, plus 16 tackles and 3.0 TFLs as a starter in the final nine games in ’24. Additionally, he was a significant contributor in 2023 as he finished with 22 tackles, 9.0 TFLs and 2.0 sacks in 11 games.
COLLIN REMENOWSKY, FB, ASHLAND
Remenowsky is down to his final year of eligibility and has posted USU as his landing spot on social media. The 6-1, 257-pounder was the starting fullback at Division II program Ashland (Ohio) University the past two seasons.
Remenowsky was credited with a 19-yard touchdown catch and 11 rushes for 43 yards and a TD this past fall for the Eagles, and three receptions for 34 yards, plus 52 yards on eight rushing attempts, during the ’24 campaign. Remenowsky, in addition to USU, tweeted out opportunities out of the portal to play for several FCS programs, including Iowa State, West Virginia, James Madison and UCF.
ASHER CUNNINGHAM, LB, ELON
Cunningham, who has signed with the Aggies and is already on campus, is coming off a big redshirt sophomore season at FCS program Elon as he garnered third-team all-conference honors. The 6-2, 235-pounder accounted for 84 tackles, including 7.5 for a loss, 5.0 sacks, two interceptions, three passes broken up and one forced fumble during the 2025 campaign.
Cunningham, who has two years of eligibility remaining, played in 20 games during his three seasons at Elon and was credited with 108 tackles.
QUINCY WRIGHT, DT, ARKANSAS STATE
Wright is headed back to the Pac-12 Conference as he spent his first three seasons at Oregon State (2022-24) before transferring to Arkansas State for his redshirt junior year. The 6-2, 315-pounder only played in one game for the Red Wolves this past season. Wright’s best season at Oregon State was in 2024 as he finished with 14 tackles and batted away a pair of passes.
This graduate transfer has signed with the Aggies for his final season of eligibility, according to Phillips. Wood was originally a preferred walk-on at Virginia and spent four seasons with the Cavaliers, where he appeared in 35 games.
The 6-foot-1, 209-pounder is coming off by far his best season as he caught 16 passes for 205 yards and two touchdowns, highlighted by a game-tying one in the final minute of the ACC championship game against Duke to force overtime. Wood had a trio of receptions during his third season at Virginia.
JAMES JENNETTE, EDGE, VIRGINIA TECH
Jennette will spent his final season at USU, according to Matt Zenitz of CBSsports. This will be the 6-4, 228-pounder’s fourth collegiate top as he played at FCS program William & Mary, transferred to the College of the (California) Canyons and played for the Hokies from 2023-25.
Jennette appeared in four games this past season, was in the starting lineup once and finished with nine tackles, including one for a loss, half a sack and one pass broken up. He appeared in 21 games and contributed with six tackles and 1.5 sacks during his first two seasons at Virginia Tech.
Jennette was the top ranked junior college edge rusher following his lone season at the College of the Canyons. He played in a combined six games for William & Mary during the COVID-19 shortened season on 2020, which was moved to the spring of 2021, and the 2021 campaign.
JAVON ROBINSON, WR, GEORGIA STATE
The Aggies have landed a proven playmaker in this 5-8, 155-pounder target as he is a three-year starter at the collegiate level. Robinson played his first two seasons at FCS program Grambling State and then transferred to Sun Belt Conference program Georgia State. Robinson ranked second on the team in receptions (58) and receiving yards (595), plus tied for the No. 2 spot with four touchdown catches, this past season.
Robinson was the HBCU Freshman of the Year in 2023 at Grambling State as he contributed with 374 yards and two TDs on 31 catches. Robinson handily led the team in receiving yards (507) and receptions (43) as a sophomore in 2024.
GRADY BROSTERHOUS, QB, VIRGINIA
Brosterhous is USU’s second addition at quarterback from the portal. The 6-3, 219-pounder played sparingly in 13 games for ACC program Virginia from 2022-25. He completed his only pass from 21 yards, plus rushed for 21 yards and four TDs on 14 attempts. Brosterhous did not see any action during the 2025 campaign.
HARRISON TAGGART, OLB, CAL
This former 4-star high school recruit at Utah 6A power Corner Canyon is arguably USU’s most accomplished addition from the portal. Taggart, who has signed with the Aggies and is already on campus, was a redshirt junior at Cal this past season, where he played in 12 games and was in the starting lineup once, and finished with 38 tackles, including 2.0 for a loss, and broke up a pass in his lone season for the Bears.
The 6-1, 235-pounder transferred to Cal from BYU, where he was one of the Cougars’ top performers as a redshirt sophomore in 2024. Taggart accounted for 69 tackles for BYU — one off the team lead — to go along with 2.5 TFLs, 1.0 sack, one interception, three passes broken up, one forced fumble and one fumble recovery. He played in 12 games and started four during his first season at BYU, and contributed with 28 tackles and one blocked kick.
Taggart, ESPN’s 25th-ranked outside linebacker nationally as a high school senior, originally signed with Oregon, where he played in three games and was in on nine defense snaps as a true freshman in 2022.
CHAPMAN LEWIS, S, TEXAS TECH
Lewis was one of the Red Raiders’ top defensive performers as a sophomore in 2024 as he finished fifth on the team in tackles (43) and defensive snaps (606), in addition to contributing with three interceptions, three pass breakups and one fumble recovery. The 6-1, 185-pounder, however, suffered a knee injury in the Liberty Bowl and missed most of the 2025 season while recovering. Lewis was able to preserve his redshirt season and still has two years of eligibility remaining.
Lewis, who started in 11 games as a sophomore, saw action in 12 games as a true freshman for the Red Raiders in 2024 and accounted for 14 tackles. Lewis, who announced his commitment to the Aggies on social media, played in 140 defensive snaps during the final four games of his true freshman season.
SESI VAILAHI, RB, OKLAHOMA STATE
Vailahi will be reunited with his younger brother, Lava, who redshirted as a true freshman safety this past season at USU. Vailahi, who has committed to the Aggies according to Brian Phillips of Big Blue USU Aggie News, spent has first three seasons at Oklahoma State and has two years of eligibility left.
The former West High star contributed with 152 yards rushing and two touchdowns, plus 54 yards receiving, as a redshirt sophomore that past season for the Cowboys. Vailahi rushed for 99 yards and two TDs and caught eight passes for 46 yards as a redshirt freshman, and finished with 27 yards rushing and 12 yards receiving as a true freshman.
JEREMIAH HOLMES, EDGE, CITADEL
Holmes was a starter this past season as a junior for The Citadel, a FCS program, and contributed with 36 tackles, including 4.5 for a loss, 3.5 sacks, two pass breakups and one fumble recovery. The 6-2, 240-pounder, who has one year of eligibility left, also played for the Bulldogs in 2023 and 2024 and was credited with 16 tackles, 3.0 TFLs, 1.0 sack, two interceptions, two PBUs and one fumble recovery as a sophomore.
KIAN AFROOKHTEH, K, COASTAL CAROLINA
USU will be Afrookhteh’s fourth collegiate stop as he spent his first two seasons at Saddleback (California) College, played for Nevada in 2024 and was a honorable mention all-Sun Belt Conference selection this past season for Coastal Carolina. The 5-8, 195-pounder was successful on 15 of 19 field goal attempts and all 32 of his PATs in 2025, with his longest field goal being 44 yards. Afrookhteh went 2 for 2 on field goals and 9 for 9 on PATs during his lone season at Nevada. Afrookhteh is down to his final year of eligibility.
KADIN LYNCH, OL, WILLIAM & MARY
Lynch spent his first four seasons at FCS program William & Mary and was in the starting lineup in all 24 games over the past two seasons. The 6-4, 300-pounder, who is down to his final year of eligibility, garnered second-team all-conference selection in 2025.
The 6-4, 204-pound Haynes has spent four seasons at Arizona (2022-25), did not play during the first two and played in a combined eight games his final two — primarily on special teams. Haynes was credited with a tackle, plus returned one punt, during the 2024 campaign.
JOHN RANDLE JR., OL, PURDUE
Randle just finished his second season at Purdue, where he played in a pair of games as a true freshman and redshirt freshman. The 6-4, 290-pounder will be reunited with former Purdue teammate Jimmy Liston, who started all 13 games at center this past seasons at USU.
ADONIS JACKSON, EDGE, MISSISSIPPI VALLEY STATE
Jackson was an impact performer this past season at FCS program Mississippi Valley State as he accounted for 37 tackles, 6.5 tackles for loss, 2.0 sacks, one pass broken up and one blocked punt that resulted in a touchdown for the Delta Devils. The 6-4, 252-pounder played in 19 games for NAIA program Southern Oregon from 2023-24 and was credited with 71 tackles, 20.5 TFLs, 14.5 sacks, two fumble recoveries, two PBUs and one forced fumble.
The former USU signal caller is headed back to Logan after spending the past two season at BYU. The former Skyridge High star has two years of eligibility remaining.
Utah State’s quarterback room lacked an experienced presence as of earlier this week, but that’s about to change.
Hillstead completed 59.4 percent of his passes for 1,062 yards and 11 touchdowns, vs. eight interceptions, in his first stint at Utah State as a true freshman. The former high school track star — he was a sub-11-second performer in the 100-meter dash — played his first snaps as an Aggie in the team’s third game of the 2023 season, relieving the benched Cooper Legas in the second half of their road game against Air Force. Hillstead threw for 202 yards and a trio of TDs on 18 of 27 passing against the Falcons, and then started the following week at home against a nationally ranked James Madison squad. Hillstead, who played in eight games and started four in ’23, threw for a whopping 399 yards and four TDs in a 45-38 loss to James Madison, but was also picked off three times.
MATTHEW WADE, OL, OKLAHOMA STATE
The 6-5, 305-pounder played in two games for the Cowboys as a redshirt freshman this past season. The native of Edmond, Oklahoma, initially walked on at OSU in 2022 before serving a mission for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.
Mckenzie has played the past three seasons for the Cougars, where he appeared sparingly in 20 games and contributed with nine tackles — seven of them were as a true freshman — one fumble recovery and one pass breakup.
Mckenzie, who has two years of eligibility left, was a stellar football player and sprinter in high school at Pine View, where he was the 4A state runner-up in track & field in the 100 meters, 200, 400 and long jump as a junior. He has blazing speed as is evidenced by his personal record times of 10.54 seconds in the 100 and 21.28 in the 200.
TA’AVILI TUITAMA, DT, NEW MEXICO STATE
The 6-foot-3, 306-pound Tuitama was in the starting lineup seven times this past season as a redshirt junior at New Mexico State. The former Hillcrest High standout was credited with 19 tackles, 4.0 tackles for loss, 2.0 sacks and four quarterback hurries in 12 games for the NMSU Aggies. The native of America Samoa and former Snow College player saw limited action in four games the previous season for NMSU.
MARKIE GRANT, CB, WYOMING
Grant still has three years of eligibility remaining as he was a redshirt freshman this past season for the Cowboys. The 5-11, 180-pounder started in four games and saw action in the other eight for Wyoming. Grant intercepted a pass against Colorado State and finished with 27 tackles and two PBUs as a redshirt freshman.
JORDAN PENDELTON, EDGE, ST. THOMAS
The 6-3, 241-pounder spent the previous four seasons at FCS program St. Thomas (Minnesota) and enjoyed a breakout 2025 campaign. Pendleton, who is down to his final year of eligibility, led his conference in sacks with 7.5, plus also paced the Tommies in tackles for loss (12.0) and forced fumbles (three), to go along with 47 tackles, one fumble recovery and two passes broken up. The second-team all-conference honoree by Phil Steele accounted for 18 tackles during his first three seasons at St. Thomas.
DAVID KABONGO, S, OKLAHOMA STATE
Kabongo spent his first two collegiate seasons at Oklahoma State and only played in the first four games in ’25, thus preserving his redshirt year. The 5-11, 190-pounder accounted for 12 tackles and one fumble recovery in those four games. He played in seven games for the Cowboys as a true freshman and produced 20 tackles — 17 of the solo variety.
