With new faces emerging and financial flexibility in mind, three starters could be potential trade options for Los Angeles later in the year.

As the Los Angeles Rams continue to balance a competitive roster with future planning, some of their most productive veterans could be names to watch on the trade block later in the year.

According to Alex Ballentine of Bleacher Report, three notable names – tight end Tyler Higbee, safety Kamren Curl, and running back Kyren Williams – are among the team’s most valuable trade assets heading into the 2025 season.

Higbee, now entering the final year of his contract, could be the most obvious candidate. The veteran tight end has been a steady contributor for years, but the writing may be on the wall after the Rams used their first selection in the 2025 NFL Draft—albeit in the second round—on Oregon’s Terrance Ferguson, a first-team All-Pac-12 talent who projects as a capable starter.

In the backfield, 2023 Pro Bowler Kyren Williams is coming off a stellar campaign where he rushed for 1,299 yards and 14 touchdowns, both career highs. But he, too, is approaching the end of his rookie deal. Should rookie fourth-rounder Jarquez Hunter – a versatile runner out of Auburn – shine early, the Rams may find it hard to justify paying top dollar to retain Williams.

Then there’s Curl, a reliable presence in the secondary who made an instant impact in his first season in Los Angeles. The former 2020 seventh-round pick out of Arkansas tallied 79 combined tackles, nine pass breakups, and even found the end zone on defense when he returned a fumble 33 yards for a touchdown. But with Jaylen McCollough flashing in his rookie season, recording four interceptions and a touchdown, Curl could become expendable, even if dealing him would thin the depth at safety.

With each player entering a contract year and younger talent waiting in the wings, the Rams may have to make difficult, forward-thinking roster decisions before the season reaches its midpoint.
