By all accounts, the Tennessee Titans have done a masterful job building their offensive staff under Robert Saleh, adding former New York Giants head coach Brian Daboll and an experienced group of assistants.
Daboll has a history of developing young quarterbacks, and Cam Ward could be the next one to find success under his tutelage. It’s something that has given the Titans’ fan base some confidence that has been lacking over the past few seasons.

The question is, how does this hire stack up against the other coordinators teams brought in during this coaching carousel? Bryan DeArdo of CBS Sports graded all of the hires and gave the Titans an above-average grade.
Offensive coordinator: Brian Daboll
Grade: B+
While his time as the Giants’ head coach was largely disappointing, Daboll does have a strong background as an offensive coordinator, including a proven track record with young quarterbacks.
Daboll worked exceptionally well with Josh Allen during their time together in Buffalo. In two years, Allen went from a struggling starter to one of the NFL’s best quarterbacks.
Daboll also got quite a bit out of Daniel Jones in New York. Jones helped lead the Giants to their first playoff win since Super Bowl XLVI, and Daboll also maximized the talents of Saquon Barkley before his departure.
Daboll will now get a chance to mentor another young quarterback in Cam Ward, who played well during his rookie season despite less-than-ideal circumstances.
Time will tell if this was the right hire. Daboll seems like a perfect complement to Robert Saleh, and should add a veteran presence to the offense, and most importantly, a coach with play-calling experience that can help transform the Titans’ offense into a consistent unit.
