The Los Angeles Rams lost a big part of their coaching staff on Sunday, as Mike LaFleur accepted an offer from the Arizona Cardinals to become their next head coach.

While Sean McVay will have to find LaFleur’s replacement, there’s a strong chance that the departing coordinator takes more coaches with him to Rams division rival.

Here’s a list of a few assistants that LaFleur may try to poach from Los Angeles for his new staff in Arizona.

Dave Ragone (Rams QB coach)

Ragone, 46, has been Los Angeles’ quarterbacks coach for the last two seasons and has previous offensive coordinator experience (Atlanta from 2021-23). He originally got his start with the Shanahan-McVay system in 2015 as an offensive quality control coach within Washington.

Rob Calabrese (Rams offensive assistant)

Calabrese, 35, was the quarterbacks coach for the New York Jets from 2021-23, while LaFleur was their offensive coordinator from 2021-22. He joined the Rams as an offensive assistant for the last two years. He could be a good quarterback coach option for LaFleur in Arizona.

Aubrey Pleasant (Rams asst HC)

Pleasant played collegiately at Wisconsin before transitioning to coaching at the high school level in 2010. He jumped to college in 2011 and to the NFL in 2013. He coached with McVay in Washington and Los Angeles. He’s also worked with LaFleur’s brother, Matt, in Green Bay. He could be a defensive coordinator candidate or assistant head coach.

Giff Smith (Rams DL coach)

Smith, 57, began coaching as a graduate assistant in 1991 and transitioned to the NFL in 2010 as defensive line coach with the Buffalo Bills. He’s bounced around the NFL but served as interim head coach in 2023 with the Los Angeles Charger before joining the Rams as defensive line coach and run game coordinator in 2024. He’s another potential defensive coordinator candidate for LaFleur in 2026.
