Former Middle Tennessee quarterback Logan Kilgore has been named the quarterback coach for the NFL’s Denver Broncos after serving three years as an offensive quality control coach.

During his time in Murfreesboro from 2010-2013, Kilgore ranks fourth overall in program history in passing yards, fifth in touchdown passes and fourth in completions. Kilgore held the season record for passing yards for Middle Tennessee from 2011 to 2013.

In Kilgore’s four seasons with MTSU, the Blue Raiders reached bowl eligibility twice, most notably losing in the Armed Forces Bowl against Navy in 2013 to conclude an 8-5 campaign.

After the conclusion of the 2013 season, Kilgore went undrafted in the 2014 NFL draft. During free agency, the New Orleans Saints signed Kilgore as an undrafted free agent, ultimately being cut after training camp, marking the end of his NFL playing career.

Determined to continue his playing career, Kilgore bounced around the Canadian Football League from 2015-2019 and serving a year as the quarterbacks coach and passing game coordinator at Bakersfield College in 2018. Kilgore took a job with Arkansas State in 2021 as an offensive analyst under former SEC head coach Butch Jones.

In 2022, Kilgore left the Redwolves to coach current Texas Longhorns quarterback Arch Manning at Isidore Newman High School, serving as the offensive coordinator and quarterbacks coach for a lone season.

Sean Payton took the reins as head coach of the Denver Broncos in 2023 and offered Kilgore a role as an offensive quality assistant. During his three seasons in Denver, Kilgore focused on coaching tight ends and special team returners and will now have a chance to coach Broncos quarterback Bo Nix.

Following a season in which the Broncos reached the AFC championship, fueled by the Nix’s play, Kilgore is tasked with continuing the development of the third-year quarterback.
