What is the Jacksonville Jaguars’ biggest positional need, and how should they attack it this offseason?

Pro Football Focus answered both of those questions for each NFL team, and when it comes to the Jaguars, it feels like PFF went 0-for-2 on their recommendations.

As far as Jacksonville’s “biggest need,” PFF selected the interior offensive line. The Jaguars aren’t losing any of their starters from last year’s unit in 2026, and also have Wyatt Milum, Chuma Edoga, and Jonah Monheim as depth — not to mention we saw Walker Little play guard as well.

So the interior offensive line certainly isn’t the Jaguars’ biggest need. Addressing the defensive line and cornerback should be greater priorities.

Now, as far as how PFF wants to address the interior offensive line, I disagree with that as well.

PFF’s suggestion was to sign veteran Greg Van Roten. Given the experience that we just highlighted on the depth chart at this position group, if the Jaguars do want to bolster their interior offensive line depth, I believe the best course of action is through the draft with a high upside talent, rather than adding another veteran on a short-term deal.

“Van Roten’s versatility is another plus,” wrote PFF’s Ryan Smith. “He has played left and right guard and center in his career. For a team with limited cap space and no draft pick until 56th overall this year, this is one of those under-the-radar signings that could pay dividends.”

We will have to see how aggressive James Gladstone gets pushing salary cap charges into future years, but considering the Jaguars’ current cap situation, this could be a quieter offseason in free agency.

The Jaguars may not have a first-round draft pick this year, but they do have 11 picks in total, however, including four in the top 100.
