The 2026 NFL Draft will take place in Pittsburgh next April, a city where the Bucs found success this preseason with a last-second field goal to defeat the Steelers. Before next April, though, there will be plenty of speculation and buildup for the team and who they may add to the roster through the draft.

PFF’s Trevor Sikkema recently released the latest 2026 NFL mock draft of the cycle. Within it, the Bucs were attached to Ohio State defensive lineman, Kayden McDonald. The monstrous defender was a big reason for the Buckeyes’ defensive success in 2025, and the Vikings would hope he does the same for them.

Sikkema explains the McDonald pick, writing, “The Vikings got great play from Jalen Redmond this past season, but the long-term outlook on their interior still needs a boost. McDonald was one of the best run defenders in the country this past season, regardless of position, earning a 91.2 PFF grade in that category.”

McDonald, alongside the likes of Jalen Redmond and Jonathan Allen, would give the Vikings one of the more dominant fronts in the NFL. They have other needs, but if the board shakes out where they settle for McDonald ‘s, they will be okay.
