The Miami Dolphins will look much different in 2026 than what they have looked like over the last half-decade. With Mike McDaniel out and Jeff Hafley in, as well as a new staff joining the new head coach, the Dolphins are entering what appears to be a rebuild stage.

With that, they will likely be moving on from quarterback Tua Tagovailoa, who was benched at the end of the 2025 season for rookie Quinn Ewers. With it likely that the Dolphins will be in the market for a new quarterback, one of the biggest names to watch for is Arizona Cardinals quarterback Kyler Murray. If they would want to go that route, Tyler Sullivan of CBS Sports believes he can be had for a second-round pick.
“As CBS Sports’ Joel Corry notes, Murray’s situation will need to come to a head before March 15th (the fifth day of the 2026 league year), as that’s when his $19.7 million base salary for 2027 becomes fully guaranteed,” Sullivan writes. “With that in mind, this potential trade could come together early in the offseason. Another factor that could drive a Murray trade is that the quarterback class at the 2026 NFL Draft isn’t particularly strong, so teams may be more inclined to target a veteran like Murray. As for a possible return, the Seahawks secured a third-round pick in exchange for Geno Smith a year ago. When healthy, Murray is a much more talented quarterback, so the Cardinals should be looking at an earlier Day 2 pick in the form of a second-rounder.”
Murray has missed significant time in two of the last three seasons with the Cardinals, and Arizona hasn’t been to the postseason since 2021. However, a fresh start for both the quarterback and the Dolphins franchise could prove to bring positive results.
