Reports: Former Chiefs offensive coordinator Matt Nagy joining Giants coaching staff
Everybody’s gonna question everything and I get all that. It’s understandable. But Matt and I had ***, have *** great relationship, and here he sits and, uh, and, and before the season, you know, right before the season even started here, um, I knew that he wanted an opportunity to have his own show. He’s been *** head coach. He was coach of the year. I mean, this, this guy, uh, all the things I’ve said about him, I still feel about him. There’s, there’s nothing different there. He, he, he, uh, he deserves to have *** head coaching job. And, um, if not, it gives him, it gives him an opportunity to go out and do his thing. I would, I would have told you the same thing about EB when he did it. It gave them an opportunity to go out and do their thing. So, there was no signage of rollovers and all that. He just, he wanted to just keep it that way. Word gets out on that and give him an opportunity. And, I mean, somebody’s missing, missing *** gym here. I just, I’m, that’s how I feel. And I would, I would love to see him get picked up and, and going. And at the same time, we got back at Jim. So, it’s ***, it’s ***, it has *** chance to be *** win-win here, uh, when everything’s said and done. Thank you.
Reports: Former Chiefs offensive coordinator Matt Nagy joining Giants coaching staff

Updated: 11:08 AM CST Feb 3, 2026
After several years with the Kansas City Chiefs, former offensive coordinator Matt Nagy is reportedly headed to the East Coast. Nagy will join the New York Giants as their offensive coordinator, according to multiple NFL and ESPN insiders. After the season ended, it seemed likely that the Chiefs and Nagy would part ways, as Nagy’s contract expired and he began pursuing head coaching jobs. He was a finalist for the Tennessee Titans head coach position before the team ultimately went another way. During that time, the Chiefs entered talks with their former offensive coordinator Eric Bieniemy, and the reunion quickly became a done deal. Now, Nagy will lead a new offense. After years working with Patrick Mahomes, Nagy will work with quarterback Jaxson Dart, who is coming off of a strong performance in his rookie season. He’ll also join newly hired head coach John Harbaugh. Despite parting ways, Chiefs head coach Andy Reid has long praised Nagy and his abilities, saying in January that Nagy deserves to be a head coach somewhere.
