The Denver Broncos and wide receiver Courtland Sutton had a lot of epic moments this year.
Maybe none were better this in his touchdown catch against the Washington Commanders.
With time running out in the first half, Broncos QB Bo Nix made an incredible play to keep things alive. He eventually found Sutton for a touchdown, barely having his knee off the ground and giving Denver a lead at 13-7.
On Tuesday, Sutton reflected on the moment in San Francisco, as he and several other Broncos players get ready for the Pro Bowl.

“They start showing the replay of it, and I’m like this isn’t even a highlight for me,” Courtland Sutton said. “I can’t even consider this a highlight for me. Look how low, and how close it was to not being a play.”
On the season, Sutton caught caught 74 passes for more than 1,000 yards and seven touchdowns. Perhaps his most memorable one came against the Commanders.
“His knee was literally this far from the ground. Dude on his leg, makes a throw on the run, hit me in stride. I mean, the dude’s special. This is an elite football play,” Sutton said.
It’s fun to look back on, but hurts that much more Nix couldn’t play in the AFC Title Game against the New England Patriots. The Broncos lost 10-7, and you’d have think if Nix hadn’t fractured his ankle they’d be in the Super Bowl.
Regardless, it’s fun to see Courtland Sutton break-down an incredible play that was part of an amazing season. The Broncos went 14-3 and earned the No. 1 seed in the AFC, coming so close to another Lombardi Trophy. They beat the Commanders 27-26 in OT that night.
The ending usually hurts, but it’s the memories made along the way that make sports fun.
