The Ravens-to-Giants coaching pipeline remains active, with another Baltimore assistant expected to join New York’s staff. CBS Sports’ Matt Zenitz reports that the Giants are expected to hire Ravens outside linebackers coach Matt Robinson as an assistant defensive line coach.
The loss of Robinson may not be a significant blow for Baltimore, particularly given the defensive line’s inconsistent pass rush in recent years. While the Ravens finished second in the NFL in sacks in 2024 and posted strong numbers in 2023, sustained quarterback pressure has often come in waves rather than consistently — an issue that has lingered since Terrell Suggs’ departure.
Ultimately, Robinson’s departure is another reminder of how highly regarded the Ravens’ coaching staff remains around the league. While Baltimore will need to continue evaluating how it develops and deploys its pass rushers, the organization has consistently shown an ability to replace departing assistants and maintain continuity. For the Giants, it’s another bet on Ravens-developed coaching talent — and for the Ravens, another offseason change they’ll need to absorb as they look to refine a pass rush still searching for sustained dominance.
