TheDallas Cowboys have shared a special update on wide receiver George Pickens, and it’s coming straight from California. While the Dallas Cowboys’ past season run ended with an ugly 7-9-1 record, Pickens enjoyed the best season of his career. His 93-reception performance earned him his first-ever Pro Bowl selection, and he looked every bit like he belonged. After his MVP honor at the league’s Pro Bowl event, his team ensured to acknowledge the feat with a one-word message.

The Cowboys took to X to celebrate Pickens after he became the Offensive MVP of the 2026 Pro Bowl Games.

“Offensive MV(G)P,” the team’s official account wrote on X, while adding a trophy emoji.

Along with a brief message, they shared his picture and let the achievement speak for itself. On February 3, Pickens represented the NFC alongside teammates Dak Prescott, CeeDee Lamb, Brandon Aubrey, Quinnen Williams, and Tyler Smith. Under legendary Jerry Rice’s leadership, the divisional squad stole a surprising 66–52 win over the AFC in the flag football game.

On the stat sheet, Pickens finished with three catches for 39 yards and a touchdown. But these numbers failed to capture the impact he made during clutch moments, keeping the game from slipping away. Among many awe-inspiring moments, one third-quarter reception stood out. Pickens hauled in a difficult one-handed catch in the end zone on a two-point conversion. Overall, the game offered plenty of drama.

The AFC was up by eight points at halftime. However, Prescott’s connection with KaVontae Turpin tied the game at 52–52 by the end of the third quarter. As the game progressed to the final quarter, Prescott found Pickens near the back corner of the end zone. It was a score that brought the NFC back into the contest for good. Later, Lamb punched in a touchdown, catching a pass from Eagles quarterback Jalen Hurts to help seal the win.

On the other side of the ball, Buccaneers safety Antoine Winfield Jr. intercepted Joe Burrow’s pass with only four minutes left on the clock. His showing earned him the Defensive MVP honors. Meanwhile, Pickens’ sparkling Pro Bowl title adds another milestone to his breakout year and makes his contract talks even more interesting. In fact, the player had recently sent a clear message about his contract situation.

George Pickens gets honest about his contract situation

The Cowboys acquired George Pickens in an offseason deal with the Pittsburgh Steelers, and the move paid off. Under quarterback Dak Prescott, the young receiver played on another level and surpassed his previous highest production from 2023. That year, he caught 63 passes for 1,140 yards along with five touchdowns.

Cut to 2025, he finished the season with 93 catches for 1,429 yards and nine touchdowns. But with his four-year, $6.75 million rookie contract already expired, his future is about to take a new turn. The Cowboys still hold the option to use the franchise tag. But the burning question is whether both sides can strike a long-term deal that benefits them mutually. Pickens recently shared thoughts on his own valuation.

“I feel like, if anything, it [his value] went up,” he said, via reporter Tommy Yarrish. “But me personally, my value is just a playmaker-type of guy. I feel like any team or wherever I play — I can be playing in Canada — I just want them to know that I’m definitely a playmaker.”

While Pickens has said he would love to remain in Dallas, he also understands the business side of the NFL. If the contract is tempting enough to him, then he’s “willing to do anything” to make it work. On the team, Prescott has already shown his support, calling Pickens a key piece in the team’s growth and success.

So far, Jerry Jones’ franchise hasn’t contacted the receiver for a contract extension. However, Pickens revealed that his agent, David Mulugheta (the same agent as Micah Parsons), is handling the discussion. While the decision looms, his teammates and fans hope to see him head back to Dallas with another long-term deal.
