The trade speculation surrounding A.J. Brown, the Philadelphia Eagles, and the Baltimore Ravens took on new life on Wednesday when Brown’s former teammate Derrick Henry publicly urged the star wide receiver to join Baltimore, sending a clear message that instantly caught the attention of Eagles fans.
Speaking on Up & Adams with Kay Adams, Henry didn’t dance around the topic when asked about the possibility of Brown landing with the Ravens.
“We would gladly love to have him,” Henry said.
“A.J. is a dog. I played with A.J. in Tennessee, and Lamar Jackson loves playing with guys who have that dog mentality. Please, A.J., come to Baltimore. Let’s go get this ring.”

“We would gladly love to have him…Come on over, please A.J., come to Baltimore, let’s go get this ring…Him and Zay, that’d be crazy. And then Bate, Mark, gotta get Likely back. We cooking”
Henry even painted the picture of what that offense could look like, adding that pairing Brown with Zay Flowers would be “crazy,” before rattling off a list of Baltimore’s skill players and declaring, “We cooking.”
Derrick Henry’s Message Sparks Trade Buzz
For Eagles fans, Henry’s comments are less about Baltimore and more about what they reveal regarding A.J. Brown’s current standing in Philadelphia.
While Brown remains under contract through 2029 after signing a three-year, $96 million extension, his rocky finish to the 2025 season has fueled trade talk.
Brown’s frustration was visible down the stretch, from sideline moments to postgame comments, culminating in a tense playoff loss where emotions boiled over.
Around the league, teams, and now players, are intrigued by the idea of Brown being on the market.
Henry’s comments carry extra weight because of his history with Brown.
The two spent three seasons together in Tennessee, forming one of the league’s best offensive pairings before Brown was traded in 2022.
Henry is one of the league’s biggest stars, and he’s openly saying he wants Brown back next to him.
When someone with that kind of standing speaks up, it adds to the belief around the league that the Eagles might at least listen.
Why a Ravens A.J. Brown Push Matters to Eagles
From the Eagles’ perspective, any team trying to trade for A.J. Brown would have to pay a decent price.
He is one of the NFL’s top receivers who has had over 1,000 yards in six of his first seven seasons.
That is what makes the situation difficult for the Eagles’ front office.
Trading Brown could bring back valuable assets, but it would also leave a major hole in an offense that won a Super Bowl less than a year ago.
Nothing appears imminent, and there has been no indication the Eagles are actively shopping Brown or close to a move.
Still, many around the league believe this situation could move quickly.
Insiders like Adam Schefter and Dianna Russini have suggested the Eagles could ultimately trade Brown this offseason.
Players across the league seem to be picking up on that belief, and comments like Derrick Henry’s show that some are already starting to make a push.
