Another former Carolina Panthers coach is set to become an offensive coordinator in 2026.

According to NFL Network insider Ian Rapoport, the Pittsburgh Steelers are expected to hire Brian Angelichio as their new offensive coordinator. Angelichio, who most recently served as the passing game coordinator and tight ends coach for the Minnesota Vikings, previously spent two seasons as the Panthers’ tight ends coach.

Those two campaigns came in 2020 and 2021, under former head coach Matt Rhule. Angelichio and Rhule had crossed paths numerous times as college coaches on the recruiting circuit, when the former was at the University of Pittsburgh and the latter at Temple University.

Angelichio would move on to Minnesota in 2022.

In addition to Angelichio, former Panthers head coach Frank Reich—who succeeded Rhule in 2023—has also closed in on an offensive coordinator opening. Reich will call plays for the New York Jets under former teammate Aaron Glenn.
