The Arizona Cardinals, after having searched for a new head coach, now are searching for a new defensive coordinator. On Wednesday, a few names came up.

According to NFL Network’s Mike Garafolo, one coach the Cardinals have requested to interview for the position is Charlie Bullen of the New York Giants. Bullen has been with the Cardinals. He was on Kliff Kingsbury’s staff from 2019-2022, first as an assistant linebackers coach and then as the outside linebackers coach.

For the last two seasons, he has been with the Giants as the outside linebackers coach and was promoted to interim defensive coordinator last year. John Harbaugh retained Bullen on his staff, but the Cardinals would like to interview him.

He also was with the Miami Dolphins from 2012-2018 as a defensive assistant, an assistant defensive line coach and assistant linebackers coach.

He and new Cardinals head coach Mike LaFleur have not yet worked together on the same staff.

Who is in the mix for the Cardinals as defensive coordinator?

These names have come up so far:

Houston Texans defensive backs coach Dino Vasso

Rams assistant head coach and pass game coordinator Aubrey Pleasant

New York Giants outside linebackers coach Charlie Bullen

No one has reported it, but Nick Rallis, the Cardinals’ DC for the last three seasons, presumably could be in the mix.
