The Seattle Seahawks have played a pair of international games in recent seasons, defeating the then-Oakland, but now Las Vegas Raiders in London in 2018, but losing to Tom Brady and the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in Munich in 2022.

The NFL is slated to put nine international games on the calendar in 2026, and on Thursday the league announced a pair of NFC West teams would face off in the first ever NFL game to be played in Australia. That matchup will not feature the Seahawks, though, as instead of getting to watch championship caliber football, fans down under will be forced to watch a pair of also rans who couldn’t even win their own division.

No details on when exactly the Los Angeles Rams and San Francisco 49ers will face off in Melbourne have been released, but there will certainly be no shortage of complaints from fans of both teams about a division game being played overseas. However, the Rams should be grateful because even if only a handful of fans show up it will feel like a home game.
