Jacksonville Jaguars head coach Liam Coen and new Tennessee Titans head coach Robert Saleh have a history of bad blood, and now they’ll be in the same division.

On the Pat McAfee Show on Thursday, Coen joked he had been texting Saleh, adding that he’s excited about the hire.

“We were just texting,” Coen said. “…It is awesome that he’s in the AFC South. What a cool move by Tennessee, seriously. Just to get another quality defensive head coach in this league that gets defenses to run around that way, I mean it’s fun for us. You want to play the best.”

In September, when Saleh was still the defensive coordinator for the San Francisco 49ers, he accused Coen of stealing signs. Coen wasn’t a fan of that public accusation, and he confronted Saleh following Jacksonville’s win over the Niners.

“Keep my name out of your mouth,” Coen said as his players held him back.

Coen managed to turn things around quickly in Jacksonville, and Saleh is hoping to do the same in Tennessee. The two contests between the division rivals next season should be interesting.
