Despite an offseason with roster questions and trade speculation, the Philadelphia Eagles’ Super Bowl outlook may not be as bad as some narratives suggest. In fact, one of the team’s top reporters believes the Super Bowl window is very open, and perhaps wider than many are thinking.
Zach Berman of The Athletic recently pushed back on the idea that Philadelphia’s window timeline is closing, instead suggesting that the roster’s mix of veterans and young talent is a reason for hope.

“Not at all. They’ve won 56 games during the past four seasons and still have considerable talent. They’ll have a quarterback who was a Super Bowl MVP (Jalen Hurts), a running back who was offensive player of the year two seasons ago who remains effective (Barkley), an underutilized in-his-prime wide receiver (DeVonta Smith), and three Pro Bowl-caliber offensive linemen with time to get healthy (Jordan Mailata, Dickerson, Jurgens).
“And this is before knowing what will happen with Brown and Johnson. On defense, the Eagles have blue-chip players on all three levels There has not been a time in my 14 years covering the Eagles with this type of young, high-end talent on defense: Jalen Carter, Quinyon Mitchell, Cooper DeJean, and Baun are among the best players in the league at their positions, with Jordan Davis, Jalyx Hunt, Moro Ojomo, Nolan Smith, Campbell among other players who will be relied upon to play at a high level — and have shown the ability to do so,” he wrote.
Berman said a lot of the right things here. Offensively, it starts with Jalen Hurts, who is a proven postseason quarterback who has already performed on the biggest stage. The Eagles will need more help around him and can do so in the offseason, but they seemingly have their quarterback, which is the most important part.
However, the most obvious part of the team winning it all is on defense. This is one of the, if not the best, defenses in the NFL. We could see it slow down as a lot of units do over the next few years, but Vic Fangio did a lot of good with that group and should continue to do so.
