Denver Broncos outside linebacker Nik Bonitto posted a picture of himself in a hospital on his Instagram story with the caption “Cooked” on Thursday. Not to worry — the star pass rusher is okay.

Bonitto underwent wrist surgery, according to a report from the Denver Post’s Luca Evans. Bonitto suffered the injury when he slammed the ground following a 29-28 loss to the Indianapolis Colts in Week 2, and he played the rest of the season wearing a cast.

Evans described the procedure as “simply a clean-up,” and Cody Roark of Mile High Sports tweeted that Bonitto “[s]hould be good for offseason program,” which is set to begin in April.

Despite playing with a cast, Bonitto recorded 14 sacks in 2025, earning an All-Pro nod from the Pro Football Writers Association of America. Bonitto was also elected to the 2026 Pro Bowl by players, coaches and fans. The 26-year-old edge defender will now tackle rehab and prepare for his fifth season in the NFL.
