Caleb Williams and the Chicago Bears are fresh off of a magical season in 2025. After starting off the year as a team expected to take a step in the right direction, the Bears won the NFC North division and earned the No. 2 seed in the NFC playoff picture.

Needless to say, the future looks bright in Chicago. Assuming Williams can continue developing, the Bears are going to be a yearly contender for a Super Bowl run.

While Williams was one of the hottest names in football throughout the 2025 season, Cincinnati Bengals wide receiver Ja’Marr Chase threw some shade at him on Thursday. During an appearance on the “Pat McAfee Show,” Chase mixed up Williams’ name.

Chase called Williams “Caleb Daniels” while speaking on McAfee’s show.

“I don’t know what the [expletive] his first name is,” Chase said. “What’s the QB for the Bears?”

Williams may not have spoken out with his own voice or posted on social media about Chase’s comments, but he sure did throw some shade back at the Bengals star.

As shared by Ari Meirov on The 33rd Team in a post on X, Williams liked a tweet reminding Chase that the Bears defeated Cincinnati this season.

That’s called taking the high road, as Williams certainly could have had some words in return. Instead, he chose a simple reminder.

Throughout the course of the 2025 NFL season, Williams played in all 17 regular season games. He completed 58.1 percent of his pass attempts for 3,942 yards, 27 touchdowns, and seven interceptions, while also running for 388 yards and three more scores.

Obviously, there is still room for Williams to improve. However, his path is heading towards stardom and Chicago couldn’t be more excited about the future.
